Day Three

Bringing Life to Dead Places

Let the weak say “I am strong” (Joel 3:10)

God has called us to make dead things alive. In Ezekiel 37, the prophet was asked if the dry bones could live. In the dialogue and events that followed, God showed Ezekiel and His people a powerful principle that is vital for us today.

God’s method of bringing life to these very dry bones was through Ezekiel prophesying “life” to the whole situation. Ezekiel had to speak to the bones. He had to prophesy to the wind. As he did, things changed and life came.

You and I also must continually speak to dead areas in our lives and circumstances. A main method of God bringing change to a situation is for one of His children to speak His promises over people and circumstances. “And God who gives life to the dead and calls those things that are not as though they are” (Romans 4:17).

NOTE It starts with each of us prophesying life over ourselves. Joel gives us a good place to start in Joel 3:10, “Let the weak say I am strong.” Start now a life long habit to “call those things that are not as though they are” in your life.

Declare: Even though I feel weak at times, I am really strong. I am very strong to accomplish God’s purposes in my life and to be a strength to others. I prophesy daily over my circumstances, my future, and over the dry areas of my life.

This reminds me of the scripture that says death and life are in the power of the tongue… we have the power to speak life into things and should do so. I am definitely being challenged to speak life to myself. Life-giving declarations are very helpful to stay on track and positive.

I forget all to often that I am exactly where I need to be. Right where God has brought me. So daily tasks should be done knowing that I can do all of them. The things that are brought before me should be done in confidence, but that doesn't happen as often as I would like. I should take confidence in knowing that God is developing me and training me for what's ahead and that I'm equipped to do it as well.

I think a "dead area" could mean so many thing. It makes Mr think of the goals I haven't met and went on the back burner. Some of the issues at home that are tip toed around. Definitely inspired me to revisit some of those things and approach it with more of a spiritual

I need to start speaking scripture over my classroom and students each morning. I love all of this positivity! I was being pretty negative for a hot minute and its time to turn that around! My declarations for today: I set the course of my life with my words. As Abraham did, I speak God's promises over my life so that my faith is strengthened to possess all of God's promises.

I have definitely noticed positive changes in my life when I proclaim out loud something in Jesus’s name. I am still working on strengthening this mindset and habit, but encouragement from his word and the difference I experience when doing so has made an incredibly positive impact on my life.
